April is the “Month of Service”

The Stoic Fellowship have made April the “Month of Service” during which Stoas are encouraged to engage with their surrounding community or with nature. These events are meant to help members reflect on the Stoic notion of connectedness and cosmopolitanism and the virtue of justice.

After conferring with the active members of the Los Angeles Stoics, we have decided to participate the L.A. River Cleanup event this year. I created a “team” called “Los Angeles Stoics” which are signed up to clean up the “Arroyo Seco Confluence” site on April 20th.

If you’d like to participate yourself, join our team during your registration process or else register for a different site that’s more convenient for you (sites span from the valley to the beach and meet between April 13th until April 27th). Let me know if you participate (lastoics[AT]gmail[DOT]com). I’m going to prepare a little document so each participant can reflect on certain Stoic principles during the cleanup.
